FAQ

A small beta. Straight answers.

Typmax is early. Here is what we are inviting people to test, what is still ahead, and how you can help shape it.

The beta

What is Typmax?

Typmax is a collaborative hardware design editor in development. We are building a better place to take a board from an early idea toward a manufacturable result—without losing the context and decisions made along the way.

What is the first beta for?

The first beta is for people who want to shape how a hardware design editor should feel at the beginning of a project: how you capture an idea, explore a design, make changes, and understand the next decision. It is a focused learning beta, not a finished production tool.

Who is a good fit?

Builders with a real project in mind: founders, hardware and firmware engineers, experienced makers, and small teams. The best fit is someone willing to share candid feedback as well as the context of what they are trying to build.

Where it is headed

Will Typmax make a PCB or Gerbers?

That is where we are headed, but it is not a promise of the first beta. We are building toward a workflow that carries a project through PCB and manufacturing outputs, and beta feedback will help determine the order and depth of those capabilities.

Will it replace my existing tools?

Not in the beta. We are not asking you to abandon tools you trust. We want to learn where the early design experience is fragmented or frustrating, then earn the right to take on more of the workflow.

Can I bring an existing design?

Existing-design import is not part of the first beta. If it matters to your workflow, say so in the signup form. Knowing what you already use is important input for the product we build next.

Trust and participation

How does Typmax help with real engineering decisions?

We are designing the editor to make useful electrical context and feedback understandable where decisions are made. The goal is not an opaque answer; it is to help a builder see what needs attention and decide what to do next.

Will my project stay mine?

Your work should remain yours. Before anyone joins the beta, we will clearly explain the data handling, privacy, and future export terms. We are not asking beta testers to give up ownership of their design work.

What does the beta cost?

The beta is invitation-only while we learn with a focused group. We will share participation and future pricing details with people before they receive access.

When can I try it?

We are inviting people in small groups as the beta takes shape. Request early access, tell us about your project, and we will get in touch if it is a strong fit for the next group.

Have a project in mind?

Tell us what you are building. A person will read it.
